Youth Development Specialist – Haven After School
Become a Youth Development Specialist at CFUM. Make a difference in the lives of children.
CFUM’s Haven after school program at Moulton Elementary offers K-5 program participants academic support, opportunities for creative self-expression and healthy self-development. CFUM Youth Development Specialists work in collaboration with another YDS and the rest of the teaching team to ensure children are fully engaged in academic and social /emotional growth programs during the school year so they are well prepared for success and advancement. This position will support an assigned age group to encourage and nurture reading and STEAM skills. The Youth Development Specialist is also responsible for classroom management, oversight of the program participants, ensuring the safety of the children, and delivery of program curriculum.
We’re looking for people who care about children and their success, are willing and able to work in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment, and are flexible enough to adapt to changing situations, while at the same time providing structure and safety.
Ideal candidates will have some childcare experience, preferably with school-age children. College courses or a degree in Elementary Education preferred.
Must be over 16 and able to meet HHS requirements as a Childcare Provider. Background check and fingerprints are required.

This is a part-time position during the DMPS school year. This role will typically be dedicated to program time from approximately 1:30 pm-5:45 pm Monday through Friday during the school year. Shifts for summer typically are 7:30am-4:30pm and 8:30am-5:30pm Monday through Friday.
Supper Club Coordinator – Children & Family Urban Movement
Advance the mission of CFUM by overseeing activities associated with Supper Club. Ensuring Supper Club groups are welcomed and trained on what to do. Make sure Supper Club dates are covered by volunteer groups or staff prepared meals. Working closely with other CFUM team members to create a mission-oriented atmosphere for all volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaison to individuals, community, corporations and faith-based communities
- Be the point of contact for Supper Club staff, volunteers, and guests
- Manage Suppe Clubs space including kitchen, pantry, and dining room
- Call groups regularly to confirm participation dates, times and meal counts
- Coordinate the purchase of a meal in advance to be served if no group is scheduled
- Thank volunteer groups who serve to strengthen relationships
- Recruit new volunteers
- Maintain accurate Supper Club volunteer data including volunteer log, hours, and in-kind donations
- Work with CFUM staff to introduce and engage new volunteers to ensure the volunteers have quality experience
Hours of Work: This is a part-time position between 1:00pm-5:00pm. Time is dependent on the operating hours of Supper Club. Some local travel might occur

- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage people and projects well
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A passion for the mission of CFUM and a desire to make a positive impact on the community.
