Volunteer Position Description
Awesome Days is our summer camp that has literacy and math components as well as various enrichment activities. Volunteers are needed to interact with the children 3:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday during the summer.
General Expectations
- Follow the dress code outlined in the procedures and expectations document
- Wear the nametag provided and sign in at designated area upon arrival
- Remain respectful and courteous to all staff, volunteers, children, and youth encountered
- Restrict the use of technological devices while volunteering unless pre-approved (i.e. iPod, camera)
- Never be alone with a child behind a closed door
Duties and Responsibilities
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Engage in conversation with children
- Encourage positive behavior and manners
- Encourage positive play time with participants
- Encourage clean-up after play
- Perform other duties as requested
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Communication skills – listening, speaking clearly
- Ability to set and maintain boundaries with children
Behavioral Expectations
- Represent CFUM positively, courteously and effectively
- Build positive internal and external relationships
- Adhere to the CFUM values
- Maintain confidentiality regarding participant and program information at all times

Social Media Policy

Screening
All volunteers are required to complete a Volunteer Screening Form before volunteering at CFUM.
