The goal of the Annual Back-to-School Fair is to assist primarily working families living in poverty prepare their children for the new school year. The fair provides students with school and sports physicals, vision exams, school supplies, and clothing in preparation to begin school and encourage academic success throughout the school year.
The program is a community building event that brings together students, families, the school staff, and local service providers to help ensure that students have a sound and healthy start to the school year and all the resources necessary to assure health and success are provided. It is also a fun event; there are games and activities for children and a cookout to conclude the day.
The CFUM Back-to-School Fair is the earliest event of its kind in the city. Designed to serve primarily Moulton students, who return to school before other health fairs are held and before school supplies are available and traditionally go on sale.
