• volunteers and donors that help us live out our mission statement of creating a community that supports the potential of children, youth, and families through educational success, healthy living, and community engagement.
• A roundtable discussion with a current CFUM student, parent and volunteer, facilitated by Andy Bales
• Paddle Raiser to raise funds for specific CFUM programming.

Parking/Directions

Complimentary covered garage parking is available just across the street from SCI’s main entrance at 4th and Market Street. Please note: The City of Des Moines will be doing road construction on Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, along the south side of SCI, until December 2024. The following are a few street closures to be aware of:

• There is a North/South street closure on SW 7th Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.
• There is another closure on 6th Avenue between Cherry Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway. Those two closures surround the DART Central Station for reference.
• The north lanes of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive are still closed.

Opening at 6:30 a.m. each weekday morning, the Breakfast Club gives children a positive start to their learning day and provides early-morning childcare for working families.

The Haven and Awesome Summer Days are academic enrichment programs that utilize literacy enrichment, S.T.E.A.M. activities, recreation, extracurricular activities, club participation and project-based learning opportunities for kids in grades K-5.

Supper Club provides an evening meal five days a week for ANYONE in the community, with an average of 125 meals are served each evening.
